About the teaching guide

This online Teaching Guide accompanies the Macquarie PEN Anthology of Aboriginal Literature. It provides critical and other resources to support teaching and study of the literary works in the Anthology.

The Teaching Guide is mainly intended for use at upper secondary school and tertiary levels, but it also includes lists of key texts for use in primary schools (in ‘Other key Aboriginal texts’). It also includes an extract from the autobiography of Eddie Mabo which does not appear in the Anthology.

This Teaching Guide has been compiled by Anita Heiss, one of the editors of the Macquarie PEN Anthology of Aboriginal Literature.
